ISL Champs Entry Reports

Below are the entry reports for ISL Champs. They’re processed and divided up as two separate meets, and therefore two separate reports, by age groups.

Age group 5-8:
2015 5-8 champs entry report

Age group 9-18:
2015 9-18 champs entry report

Everyone should have emailed Coach Ed by 10:00pm last night with their respective event requests for the Champs meet. Therefore, you already know which events your swimmers are swimming. This is just an opportunity for you to review your official choices and see if your swimmer is in a relay(s).

It’s important for everyone to show up to the meet so there is not a “hole” in the heats. It is ESPECIALLY important for those who are in the relays to show up on time because we do NOT have alternates. If any one swimmer is missing, the whole relay team has to scratch/forfeit.

If you see any inaccuracies in the report, please contact Coach Ed as soon as possible.

Canopies Needed at Waves Tent City

Help us create a great Waves Tent City at ISL Champs!

For those of you who are new to ISL Champs, every year our Champs Set-up Volunteers build a “Woodbury Waves Tent City” at the meet that all of our great families and swimmers are able to share and enjoy. For one meet, families are spared the groggy-eyed, early morning experience of racing to the pool at the crack of down to save a shady spot.

However, as any Set-up or Take-down Volunteer will attest, many of our team canopies are on their last legs (literally!) and will be sent to EZ-Up Heaven after this season is over.

Therefore, we are asking for your help – we need your canopies!

For this year’s Champs meet, we need to borrow 15 canopies to use in combination with our functioning team canopies to create a worthy Waves Tent City. If you are willing to lend us your canopy, please:

1. Contact Wendy Pimentel to let her know.

2. Drop your canopy off to the Set-up Team on Friday, August 7 during the Spirit Party.

Thanks in advance and go Waves!

ISL Champs Volunteer Sign-Up

Per our Volunteer Agreement, every family’s volunteer hours for the Champs meet are above and beyond those of the regular season meets. Below are descriptions of the volunteer responsibilities. If you have any questions, please contact Wendy Pimentel or Pete Shim.

If you are not signed up for a role by Thursday, August 6, you will be placed in an available role.

An email was sent to you on Tuesday, July 28 with the subject line: VolunteerSpotPostOffice. The email contains a personal link to sign up. Please do not forward; it is customized to you.

The following are the available roles (total # of volunteers needed in parentheses):

Hospitality Coordinators (2) – Pick up Food/Snack Items. Deliver to the meet and set up on tables at camp. Food to be set by 7:00am for Check-In. Turn in receipts to Ralph Aoki.

Camp Set-Up Lead (1) – Coordinate with Ralph Aoki on pick-up and transport of EZ-Ups and tables as needed (the day before at the Spirit Party). Arrive early and lead set-up efforts for our camp from roughly 6:00-7:00am on the morning of Champs.

Camp Set Up Helpers (5) – Help set up EZ-Ups and tables from roughly 6:00-7:00am on the morning of Champs.

ISL is still finalizing the timing assignments and we will keep all Timer volunteers apprised as information comes in. Volunteers who choose this role are agreeing to be flexible with hours and potential reassignment.
